On Thursday, the Ministry of Planning announced that it has achieved advanced completion rates in the implementation stages of Al-Hurriya Hospital project in Baghdad, with a capacity of 400 beds, within the Karkh district in Baghdad. It is hoped that it will open at the end of next year 2024 for the interest of the Ministry of Health.
A statement issued by the ministry said that, the field follow-up team specialized in the Government Investment Programs Department carried out a visit to the project site, in light of the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Dr. Muhammad Ali Tamim, and the priorities of the government program, indicating that the visiting team was briefed On the reality of the progress of work in the stages of implementation of the hospital, and diagnosed the problems that hinder the completion of this project, and take the necessary measures to address them. Pointing out that the cost of the project amounted to approximately (180) billion dinars. With a completion rate of about 55%, and on a land area of more than (22) dunums, with a capacity of (400) beds, with a hall system, and with a distinct architectural design, it represents a new approach in the designs of hospital buildings in Iraq, and a milestone in creating a distinctive internal and external environment for patients and staff, indicating that the completion of Al-Hurriya Hospital will contribute to providing medical health and advisory services to citizens in Al-Hurriya, Al-Kadhimiya and the neighboring and surrounding areas of the project. Especially since the hospital is built with modern international urban designs, with a similar copy of King Juan Carlos Hospital in the Spanish capital, Madrid.
The statement stated that the hospital consists of eight floors, in addition to a five-story building for doctors, in addition to an educational building and laboratories consisting of four floors, and an emergency building consisting of three floors.
