The Deputy Prime Minister, minister of planning , Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Tamim, visited on Thursday the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, one of the formations of the ministry.
The minister toured the departments, sections, divisions and laboratories of the organization. He was briefed on the nature of the work and the difficulties facing the workers.
He also held an extended meeting with the head of the organization, Dr. Hussein Ali Daoud, general managers and advanced staff. He listened to a detailed explanation about the functioning of the organization and its role in many important joints related to people’s lives.
The Minister stressed the importance of the work of the organization, pointing out that this importance requires the provision of appropriate conditions that help the agency to perform its tasks, especially with regard to examining imported goods and products, follow up on the local product, jewelry marking, and the rest of the other tasks.
The visit also included, the Iraqi Accreditation Commission affiliated to the Ministry of Planning, where the Minister was briefed on the Commission’s work mechanisms in monitoring laboratories and granting work permits.
