The Human Capital and Poverty Alleviation Committee at the Ministry of Planning held its third meeting. Within a series of its meetings to prepare the national development plan for the next five years.
The Director-General of the Department of Human Development, Dr. Maha Abdel-Karim Al-Rawi, Chairperson of the Committee, explained: These meetings are of high importance for the preparation of the national development plan at the level of Iraq as a whole, indicating: It includes future plans for the sectoral ministries. as well as annual budgets. In addition to developing all economic sectors based on this plan. She indicated that the previous national development plan was not implemented as required due to the challenges and crises that accompanied its implementation period, especially the economic, health and other challenges. Which prevented its implementation, confirming: The new plan was prepared in parallel with the Response and Recovery Document after Covid (19). Al-Rawi indicated that the previous meetings included: the general framework of the plan, the themes and tasks of the Human Capital and Poverty Reduction Committee, and what are the objectives at the current stage. In addition to preparing problem trees according to which the treatments, priorities, and strategy that will be included in the plan are prepared, as well as the goals that will be included within each priority. The meeting was attended by members of the committee who represent the ministries of (Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Health, Youth and Sports, Labor and Social Affairs), in addition to a number of experts and representatives of a number of concerned agencies and departments in the ministry.
