On Tuesday, Ministry of Planning revealed , a remarkable achieving progress in the implementation phases of Al Sha’ab Hospital project, with (200) beds Capacity within Baghdad governorate. Which is expected to be completed in September of next year 2024. For the Ministry of Health.
This came in a statement by the ministry after a visit to the project site, which was carried out by the field follow-up team at the Government Investment Programs Department at the Ministry of Planning.
The statement said: This visit came based on the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning Dr. Muhammad Ali Tamim, And the priorities of the government program to improve the level of services and in order to see the reality of work progress in the implementation stages of Al Sha’ab Hospital project, Indicating that the hospital will contribute to providing medical, health and advisory services to more than (3) million people in the areas of (Al-Shaab, Al Bunook, Al Qahira, Ur , and Sab’aa Qsoor) in the capital, Baghdad, and it is an integrated hospital that includes maternity halls, fractures, and other emergency rooms.
The statement indicated that the hospital was built on a land with an area of more than 40,000 square meters and a capacity of 200 beds. It consists of (6) buildings. As well as external courtyards and a parking garage with a different architectural design, In addition to the doctors’ residence, consisting of (5) floors, for the residence of doctors residing in the hospital. the statement explained that the actual completion rate of the hospital reached about 65%.
it also pointed out that the field team diagnosed a number of problems that hinder the completion of the hospital. Among them is the absence of a sewage treatment and lifting station, as well as the need for an electricity connection line that is excluded from the scheduled power cut. finally, the statement called on the relevant authorities to address these problems.
