The Ministry of Planning participated in the panel discussion on the role of volunteer work in achieving sustainable development goals. Organized by the United Nations Development Programme, On the occasion of International Volunteer Day.
The Ministry’s participation was represented by Ms. Aseel Adel, Director of the Sustainable Development Department in the Department of Regional and Local Development, and the symposium witnessed a panel discussion that included a presentation of the experiences of volunteers in Iraq, the most prominent volunteer work, and activities provided by volunteers, with an explanation of the importance of volunteer work, and a presentation of winning ideas in the field of work. Volunteering in relation to the goals of sustainable development, and exploring the possibilities of volunteer work in the field of climate action and innovation, which number three ideas, represented by (a mobile laboratory). And (integrating technology into volunteer campaigns through a platform that includes special training). And (The Green Fund, which It manages organizational matters through the use of modern, environmentally friendly technology. The panel discussion also included a presentation of the most prominent achievements of the Iraqi government in integrating volunteer work through the National Youth Vision and the five-year national development plan that the Ministry of Planning is preparing for the next five years.
