Ministry of Planning discussed the overall (final) framework for the next national development plan.
This came during a meeting of the Preparatory Committee to prepare the National Development Plan (2023-2027), with the participation of the general managers of the Ministry, a group of experts, specialists and representatives of the concerned departments. The meeting was chaired by the Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Dr. Maher Hammad Johan, and was attended by the Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Azhar Hussein Saleh, witnessed a presentation of the plan’s priorities within the human capital pillar in its final form, as well as discussing the proposed timelines for the plan. The meeting dealt with presenting the proposed time frame for preparing the National Development Plan (2023-2027). The stages of its preparation, consisting of the first (preparatory) stage, included: Formation of higher, technical and sectoral committees specialized in preparing the plan and holding meetings and workshops to clarify work procedures. In addition to formulating the general framework and its future development vision. The second stage is (diagnosis) it included: Conduct a comprehensive presentation of the current status of the axes and sectors of the plan. Submission of preliminary sectoral papers according to axes and sectors. The third phase included planning in terms of formulating the strategic and sub-objectives of the plan’s sectors and the means of achieving them. As for the last stage, it is approving the final version of the National Development Plan (2023-2027).
