Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Planning held a workshop on building a national measure of human security, which included several presentations: the first was a presentation by the expert Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan on human security, another presentation on the development of the scale and a discussion of the preliminary matrix of dimensions and indicators of human security in Iraq in line with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, and global governance indicators presented by Dr. Omar Hamdan from the Department of Human Development, as well as a third presentation on the protection of civilians during the implementation of security operations and law enforcement / policy and guide to the protection of civilians Presented by the representative of the National Security Advisory, Mr. Saeed Al-Jubouri. The workshop was opened by the Director General of the Department of Human Development, Dr. Maha Abdul Karim Al-Rawi, who indicated in a speech that this workshop was organized on the Human Security Matrix, which was prepared by a specialized ministerial team. The work on it took a whole year, and dealt with (8) various dimensions of human security, in addition to proposing a number of goals, indicators and executive bodies for each dimension. She explained that the participation of this matrix with the National Security Advisory to express an opinion and cooperation in building an index of human security in Iraq, as well as with ministries and other concerned parties, noting that the subject of the human security index is of great importance in Iraq because it is linked to the dimensions of human development and is a focus for sustainable development.
The workshop also dealt with a proposed vision until 2030.
The workshop, which was held by the team of experts at the Ministry, was attended by a representative of the International Labor Organization and a number of heads of departments, divisions and relevant authorities.
