The Ministry of Planning announced close to the completion of the laboratory hospital project, (100) bed capacity within Al-Zawra district in Baghdad, at the end of the current year 2023 in favor of the Ministry of Health. This came during a visit carried out by the field follow-up team specialized in the Government Investment Programs Department, in the Ministry of Planning.
A statement issued by the media office of the ministry said: that this visit, it came with the aim of following up the stages of completion and identifying the problems that hinder the completion of that hospital and taking the necessary measures to address them by the concerned authorities. This is in light of the priorities of the government program to work to improve the level of services, foremost of which are health and medical services.
The statement indicated that the hospital was built on a land area of (21) dunums, with a capacity of (100) beds, with six floors, and a two-storey building for doctors, and service building, pointing out that the cost of the project exceeds (50) billion dinars. He explained that the completion rate reached about 60%, and it is expected to be completed by the end of this year. It is considered one of the most important projects, as it is located in an area between the governorates of Baghdad and Diyala, which suffers from a lack of services in general and medical ones, with a population density in it.
The statement noted that one of the problems that hinder the completion of the hospital is the lack of paving of the main roads, in addition to the spread of slums and population abuses in the region. Stressing the necessity of completing the conveyor line to drain the hospital’s heavy water and ensuring that it is not overstepped, while paving the main road and the road leading to the hospital.
It is worth noting that the hospital project will contribute to providing medical, health and advisory services to the people of the areas (Al-Hussainiya, and Al-Ma’amil, Al-Karama, Al-Sa’ada, Al-Sha’ora, Al-Bawiya, Al-Imari, Al-Batoul and Al-Nasr in Baghdad.
