Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Technical Affairs Dr. Maher Hammad said that the first voluntary Iraqi report on sustainable development for 2019 has become one of our functions as a national committee for sustainable development and the Ministry of Planning and all those concerned with the theme of the sustainable development agenda in the country as it is important to communicate with the world and deliver our experience to them and our privacy and to see their experiences Hammad said in a speech during a training and advisory workshop held by the ministry to develop a road map for the preparation of the first voluntary report for sustainable development in 2019 in cooperation with the UN Development Program. Interaction and communication in order to disseminate it as a culture rather than merely a report to be presented as a means of communication with all stakeholders to benefit from various methodological initiatives that are clearer and more secure for the implementation of the sustainable development agenda and for the voluntary review. The voluntary report is not the report of the Ministry of Planning, but includes the sectoral ministries and local governments or representing local governments as a civil society and even the private sector as well as the academics and experts concerned who will be key contributors in writing this voluntary report that we will work with you to draw the methodological road map and the fundamentals of this report and Are the priorities that we as a country will develop and what we will share with the international methodology.
For his part, Director of the United Nations Development Program in Iraq, Gerardo Noto, said that this workshop is a good opportunity to cooperate more with the Iraqi government and to discuss more about the sustainable development plan 2030, expressing his hope to get the best results for this agenda through this workshop. He added that the workshop will address all the ideas and support each other for what we get and share the experience and share all these things with you so that we can get better results for this agenda to achieve in 2030 and also the participation of lessons and what the challenges we faced and continued by saying: We look together to determine What are the steps that we want to do and what is the goal that we want to reach by specifying the points, noting that the United Nations Development Program plays an important role in this matter as we will work in cooperation with other ministries and civil society organizations to develop the work plan and see what results we can get And Lahu main goal we want to reach him.
During the four-day workshop, participants will discuss methodologies and preparations for the preparation of Iraq's voluntary report on sustainable development for 2019. It should be noted that the workshop was held with the participation of a number of general managers in the Ministry of Planning and representatives of ministries and entities not affiliated with the Ministry, as well as a number of international experts, academics and relevant bodies as well as representatives of the United Nations Development Program.
