In the third session of the Ministry of Planning conference on its second day, the roles of partners in achieving sustainable development goals were discussed
For the second day, the sessions of the expanded conference to review development towards a recovery plan responding to the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic continued, which is being held by the Ministry of Planning and with the support of the United Nations Development Program, and the third session, which was held today, Thursday, witnessed three presentations on the roles of partners in sustainable development, which were managed by the Academy at the university Al-Mustansiriya, Dr. Azhar Zayer Jassem, and Mr. Hassanein Ahmed Hassan Al-Mousawi from the Abbasid shrine gave a presentation on the goals of sustainable development 2030, the most important of which were the eradication of poverty and hunger, as well as making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe and resilient. As well as strengthening the means to implement and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
As for the second presentation by Mr. Issam Al-Jubouri, Director of Programs at Umm Al-Yateem Foundation, he dealt with the issue of the roles of partners towards sustainable development, in which he indicated that the Umm Al-Yateem Foundation for Development has a role in achieving the indicators of sustainable development goals through the establishment of centers for the protection of children and families distributed in the governorates (Baghdad, Najaf, Al-Muthanna) in addition to that the centers provide legal, social, psychological and awareness-raising services for the child and his family, as well as each center provides a field team of researchers and facilitators to provide services in rural areas far from the center's site, while the third presentation by Mr. Muhannad Al-Qurayshi from the 2030 Sustainable Development Network included Under the title (Towards a more responsive and sustainable future in Iraq in light of the Coronavirus pandemic), in which he called for economic measures to be taken to alleviate the deterioration of the economic situation that accompanies the emergency crises.
