Ministry of Planning, in cooperation with the World Bank, holds a workshop to discuss the final draft of the Social Fund for Development Law
The workshop, organized by the Ministry of Planning in cooperation with the World Bank, concluded on Tuesday to discuss the Social Fund for Development Law, with the participation of a number of deputies and advisors of the State Council, as well as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Qasim Enaya Farz, and the Executive Director of the Fund, Mrs. Najlaa Ali Murad, The World Bank, which was chaired by Mr. René Solano, was the subject of extensive discussions of the draft law of the Social Fund for Development. Al-Hamidi and Dr. Fian Dakhil) made many important observations regarding the said law, while Dr. Riad Mujool of the State Council reviewed the articles, paragraphs and provisions of the draft law. Participants in the workshop discussed the future steps of the Social Fund, and its role in supporting and empowering the poor communities and vulnerable groups in the areas to be supported by the Fund, stressing the importance of providing sustainable sources of funding for the Fund and enabling it to perform its tasks as stipulated by law. For her part, the Executive Director of the Social Fund, Najla Ali Murad, reviewed the steps and progress made in the work of the Fund in the three governorates (Muthanna, Salahuddin and Dahuk), which were included in the first phase of the work of the Fund by working to include more than 60 projects in 30 villages These projects include the sectors of water, electricity, sewage, schools, health, roads, etc., pointing out that about 13 thousand citizens in Muthanna province and about (28) thousand Other citizens of Salahdin governorate will benefit from the services of the Fund at this stage.
