The Ministry of Planning revealed a rise in total imports last year 2016 commodity materials and petroleum products (18%) compared with the year 2015 after the total of these imports about 50 billion dollars , while in 2015 (about 42 billion US dollars , a compound growth rate (15%) for the year 2014.
Official spokesman of the Ministry of Planning, Mr. Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi said in a statement. The Central Statistics Bureau of the ministry issued its annual report on the volume of imports, according to the border ports. He explained that the total non-oil commodity imports amounted to (hydrochloric acid (50) billion dollars up (20%) of the year 2015, in that year (39) billion dollars.. Adding, the total imports of petroleum products for the year 2016 amounted to (2 billion dollars, a decline of 12% for the year 2015, the growth rate has decreased composite approaches (34%) for the year 2014
Mr. Al-hindawi showed that the size of the non-oil commodity imports through the ports of about 43 billion dollars, registering a rise for the year 2015 (23%), where he was in that year (35) billion dollars. Pointing out that imports through the ports is highest in value compared with the ground outlets through which import volume of about (4) billion dollars air import through did not record only (100) billion Iraqi dinars only.
