The team tasked with preparing the national voluntary review report for Iraq on sustainable development held an expanded meeting under the chairmanship of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning Dr. Maher Hammad, who stressed that the meeting is very important as it is part of preparing the report of the voluntary national review of Iraq. Has been studied with all partners as well as the basic structural touches to the construction of the voluntary report to be submitted by Iraq next year.
He added that the meeting included a meeting with the Minister of Planning, Dr. Nuri al-Dulaimi, who expressed his support for the team of experts, stressing that it was agreed to hold a broader meeting to take the planning axes for the distant future. He explained that the meeting also discussed mechanisms for providing additional information and updating reports. Vision 2030. Hamad added that the meeting also included discussing the launching of the public platform for sustainable development. The ministry is working with its partners and academics to launch its virtual and realistic puja platform, the aim of which is to create awareness of the concept of sustainable development.
He pointed out that this requires many mechanisms, as work is under way to develop a so-called initial guide to proceed with the establishment of this platform, which starts from the National Commission for Sustainable Development and will be its partners in universities, ministries, civil society organizations, schools and governorates as it is more than a place or time to achieve the purpose Full picture. For her part, Director of the Program for the goals of sustainable development and its support in Iraq in the United Nations Development Program Dr. Sundus Abbas that this meeting included the team of experts with the Preparatory Committee in the Ministry of Planning for the preparation of the first draft of the voluntary report to be submitted by Iraq in 2019 and with the support of the United Nations Development Program.
