Follow-up to the first national workshop on gender statistics within the framework of the project "Building and strengthening national capacities in gender statistics towards better empowerment of women and girls" (2018-2020) with the participation of a number of statisticians working in the technical departments of the Central Bureau of Statistics and participants from the Department of Human Development in the Office of Human Resources Development Ministry of Planning The head of the Central Bureau of Statistics met with the second meal of the training module for gender statistics, which lasts for (4) days. All participants in the workshop passed the e-learning test launched by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
The workshop aims to train statisticians working in various fields by developing their gender-sensitive skills, producing sex-disaggregated data, and taking advantage of the data and indicators that the training addresses. Consequently, trainees are trained to write reports based on statistical analysis based on evidence and gender sensitivity.
The workshop will be followed by a number of national training workshops to increase awareness of the importance of gender, modernize the national statistical system and increase statistical information.
