The Minister of Planning, Dr. Nuri Sabah Al-Dulaimi, chaired the 65th session of the Contractors and Companies Classification Committee, in the presence of a number of representatives of the ministries, the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, and the Iraqi Contractors Union.
During the session, Dr. Nuri Al-Dulaimi explained the Ministry’s strategic plans to support and enable the contracting sector, within the framework of achieving a true partnership, within the governmental directions to support the private sector and enable it to fulfill its role as an effective development partner for many economic sectors.
Stressing the Ministry’s review of the laws and instructions for classifying contractors and the mechanisms and procedures for blacklisting and raising them, in a way that achieves the common interests of the contracting parties and the implementing companies, and leads to advanced levels in the quality of projects included in government contracts, while the Minister directed a package of measures aimed at facilitating the work of contractors, And guarantee their rights.
For its part, Director General of the Legal Department, Dr. Hana Ismail Ibrahim, confirmed that the meeting included classification of contractors' companies through the renewal and amendment of companies, noting that the committee approved 42 identities during the past two weeks, according to the instructions for classification of contracting companies and contractors and listing in the black list No. 1 of 2015 as well as Renewal of 298 classification IDs.
