The planning minister/acting the Minister of Trade, Dr. Salman Al-Jameeli, met General Manager of Egyptian (Akhbar Al-Youm), Mr. Ahmed Galal, who is currently visiting Iraq.
They discussed a number of important issues which constitute the common interest of the two countries in the forefront of the preparation for an exhibition for Egyptian products and another book fair in the capital Baghdad for the period from 31 August until 10th of September 2018, which establishes the institution of news today, as well as discussing ways of strengthening economic, trade and cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially after the Iraq to defeat terrorism and to begin the reconstruction operations and development in the liberated areas.
The minister stressed that the Egyptian Iraqi relations are distinguished relations in all areas, especially in the economic and investment and called for expansion of mutual cooperation and overcoming all obstacles surrounding the trade cooperation and facilitate the movement of merchants and businessmen and investors in both countries through facilitating visa procedures and provide the necessary means to encourage mutual investment in the area of specific expertise. Adding that the Iraqi government started its steps in the field of reconstruction through seeking to provide appropriate business environment for investment and to road maintenance and securing and maintaining bridges located on international trade to facilitate the entry and exit of goods to and from Iraq without obstacles.
On his part, the General Manager of Egyptian Akhbar, Mr. Ahmed Galal, congratulated the people and Government of Iraq on the occasion of the elimination of terrorism , and liberalization of the Iraqi land. Stressing that Egypt in all economic, political , media, and cultural happenings aspires to help in the reconstruction of Iraq and its support for the next stage. Pointing out that the exhibition for Egyptian products and another book fair in Baghdad in the month of August comes in line with these trends.
The meeting was attended by the Charge d'affaires of the Egyptian embassy in Baghdad, general supervisor of the exhibition Assem sheikh and a number of managers in the ministries of planning and trade.
