The Minister of Planning, Dr. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, accompanied by the Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, and the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, visited the Grand Faw port project, and reviewed the progress of work on the project and the western and eastern breakwaters.
The Minister stressed that the Grand Faw port project represents a real start for Iraq's economic renaissance, because of its unprecedented development value, whether by opening broad trade horizons, between Iraq and the world, east and west, or through tens of thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities. , stressing that the project represents a real challenge for the government, which is serious and determined to proceed with its completion according to the timelines of its components, which should be completed within 4 years, pointing out that the Ministry of Planning strongly supports the project, and is at the top of its development priorities, as it is for Iraq To have a sea front and a port the size of the great port of Faw, and in a way that is compatible with the vital commercial and economic location of Iraq, on the world level.
