The Minister of Planning, Prof. Dr. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, confirmed today, Sunday, that Iraqi women can contribute significantly to the development process, with their growing economic role, and the presence of a number of businesswomen who are able to enter various investment fields, stressing the readiness and endeavor of the Ministry Planning, to provide all possible support to increase the participation of women in the economic aspect.
This came during a meeting with the Minister, Mrs. Hoda Al-Azzawi, President of the Business Women’s Foundation for the Empowerment of Women, and her accompanying delegation, which included a number of businesswomen and academics.
The minister pointed out that the investment environment in Iraq is still a virgin environment, and contains very large investment opportunities that the private sector can invest, pointing to the importance of the role of women in developing investment in various fields, calling on Iraqi businesswomen to study investment opportunities, in which they can contribute. He added that such projects will serve many women, especially in the poorest and areas of displacement.
For her part, Al-Azzawi spoke about the economic potentials available to Iraqi businesswomen, reviewing the projects that have been implemented by this institution, expressing her desire to obtain more investment facilities, to carry out the implementation of projects, especially economic empowerment projects for women.
