The Minister of Planning, Prof. Dr. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, stressed that great efforts are being made now in order to address the problems facing the completion of stalled hospitals in all governorates.
This came during the Minister’s presidency of a meeting of the Diwaniya Committee (45), which is tasked with finding solutions and treatments for the stalled hospitals, adding that the completion of these hospitals represents a national priority issue, stressing that the committee has so far managed to deal with the files of about 32 hospitals of different capacities. And there are facilities that will be granted to companies that have achieved good achievement rates, pointing out that the health sector will witness an improvement in the level of health and medical services provided to citizens, in the event that these hospitals are completed, revealing that the committee will continue its work until all the problems facing the completion of the stalled hospitals are addressed.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Hani Al-Uqabi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Dr. Azhar Hussein Saleh, files were discussed, Najaf Hospitals, with a capacity of 400 beds, and Dujail Hospital in Taji in Baghdad, with a capacity of 50 beds, and Dujail Hospital in Salah al-Din Governorate, which also has a capacity of 50 beds. And Nahrawan Hospital in Baghdad, with a capacity of 200 beds, as well as a number of other related issues, and the committee took recommendations and decisions in this regard.
Representatives of the relevant authorities and the Director General of the Sectors Planning Department at the Ministry of Planning participated in the meeting. The committee also hosted representatives of a number of implementing companies.
