The Iraqi - Jordanian - Egyptian Coordinating Council discussed the mechanism of activating the memoranda of understanding concluded with the Arab Republic of Egypt that were signed during the recent visit of the Egyptian Prime Minister and preparing for the visit that the council’s delegation is scheduled to make to Cairo next month.
The Chairman of the Council, Minister of Planning, Prof. Dr. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, said that the Iraqi side is keen to start activating the memoranda of understanding signed between the Iraqi and Egyptian sides and the necessity to develop plans to ensure the continuity of the stalled projects that have reached advanced completion rates that pertain to housing, roads, bridges and infrastructure sectors. He called on the council's sub-committees to take their role in preparing recommendations for activating memoranda of understanding.
For his part, the National Coordinator of the Council, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, stressed that the Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi, stresses the need to proceed with the activation of what has been accomplished by signing memoranda of understanding on the ground in the fields of energy, agriculture and industry, as well as the service sectors , With setting specific timelines to start the implementation process.
In addition, the Council approved the recommendations that were made by the meeting, and discussed the new memoranda of understanding that will be signed with the Egyptian side during the upcoming visit.
